NASK Warns: Don't Fall for Disinformation Attacks in the Final Stretch of the Campaign
The Minister of Digital Affairs referred to a statement from NASK, the government agency responsible for cybersecurity, which informs that "in recent days, CERT Polska experts have received information about ongoing disinformation activities in cyberspace. We warn voters – the final days of the election campaign are a period of particular threat from external entities who may wish to influence the course of the elections to the Sejm and the Senate."
"Campaigns identified by NASK experts involve the distribution of false email messages and SMS messages containing untrue program proposals by disinformation agents impersonating the Law and Justice Electoral Committee. Unsecured domains with names similar to those used by the electoral committee and SMS gateways used for mass messaging were employed for sending such messages, among other methods. Electoral committee programs can be found on their official websites and verified social media profiles.
