We are preparing for individual scenarios. We have a first, second, third, and fourth line of defense. The first is our restrictions, masks, testing, identifying cases of sick individuals. The second is the entire hospital system, quarantine, isolation, but above all, our medical staff. The third line of defense is additional beds. These beds are not yet available, but in a few days, several thousand beds will appear in the system. In recent days, beds for Covid patients have been increasing faster than the number of these patients. Prof. Horban is certainly right in the sense that if this pandemic were to continue to develop, and – God forbid – still develop exponentially, the rate of [bed] increase might prove too slow. Hence the fourth line of defense, which is temporary hospitals, which we are building today so that they will be ready in two, three, or four weeks” – said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on Polsat News.
