Kempa:

Neither Lopez Aguilar, Jourova, Timmermans, nor MEPs Attacking Poland Can Define Rule of Law. Such a Definition Doesn't Exist

  • It would seem on one hand that it's not about catching the rabbit, but about chasing it. I see that the gentlemen from the EP and ladies from the center-left have become fixated on indeed boxing these EU countries, in this case Poland and Hungary, Romania is already joining, and recently Bulgaria is also being berated for wanting to implement any reforms, including justice reforms. And currently, they are preparing an operation concerning the issue of, at first, of course, through small steps with a large operation of shaping international public opinion broadly understood, that rights are being violated in Poland and there is no democracy at all, terrible things are happening. Simultaneously, a parallel attempt is being made to introduce the so-called evaluation mechanism. We will probably debate this topic again when the time comes and there will be a completely non-objective body. But the most important thing is that no one, neither Mr. Lopez Aguilar yesterday, nor Ms. Jourova, nor Mr. Timmermans at the time, nor those distinguished MEPs who are attacking Poland, can use the definition of the rule of law. This definition simply does not exist, and no one is trying to create such a definition at the EU level regarding the documents we have signed, the treaty documents, to make such a decision – stated Beata Kempa in an interview with Adrian Klarenbach on PR24.
