- Without strong local government, we will never be a modern society. And I'll tell you more. Those 90s, the beginning of this century, also featured strong Presidents of the Republic of Poland. Presidents who could rise above their political circles and be independent. Aleksander Kwaśniewski, Lech Kaczyński. I didn't vote for Lech Kaczyński, but I remember how proud I was when he, along with other regional presidents, defended Georgian democracy against attacks, Russia's attack in Tbilisi. I remember how proud I was of him - stated Rafał Trzaskowski in Poznań.
