The President Recalls PO-PSL Governments: VAT Increase and Plans to Privatize LOT
Today marks 5 years since the elections in which Andrzej Duda defeated Bronisław Komorowski.

The President was a guest on Jedynka radio in the morning, he will participate in a mass for healthcare workers, and later he will be in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, where he will visit an agritourism farm and the Świętokrzyski National Park. The day will conclude with an appearance on TVP's Gość Wiadomości.
In Sygnały dnia, Andrzej Duda was asked by Górska-Hejke about the perspective of the last five years. "After the pensionable age increase by Donald Tusk's government, where Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz headed the Ministry of Labour, after actions related to increasing VAT, the liquidation of Polish shipyards, the constant threat to the mining industry that was then created; when there was continuous talk about liquidating more Polish companies, talk about selling LOT, it seemed that we were heading for a hopeless situation. They said it was nonsense, that the 500+ program could be introduced, that it would ruin the state budget, that it was irresponsible," the president said.
PAD attacked his rivals from PO and PSL: "Both gentlemen who were active participants in anti-social processes today claim they will be guarantors, that they will not raise the pensionable age, that they will defend 500+. After all, both were opponents of 500+, both participated in the processes of raising the pensionable age. Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, actively."
PAD on Trzaskowski and Kosiniak: 'Tusk Was Their Boss'
PAD spoke of dishonorable people: "Their boss was Donald Tusk, who in 2011, during the parliamentary campaign, directly to the camera, looking voters in the eye, said that there would be no increase in the pensionable age after the parliamentary elections. And what happened? His grouping won the elections in 2011, and immediately after those elections, the pensionable age was raised, contrary to all promises. Simply put, these are the kinds of people, they have no honor, they disregarded their word, they thought they could promise people anything they wanted, without any consequences."
The president returned to his line of direct meetings with Poles: "I represent Polish interests and what I am convinced are the expectations of my compatriots. And I know these expectations because I met with people directly, I didn't read about them in newspapers."
Trzaskowski: 'The More They Attack Me, the Stronger I Will Become'
Rafał Trzaskowski, in an interview with Jacek Nizinkiewicz in Rzeczpospolita, responded to PiS attacks: "The more they attack me, the stronger I will become. I see panic in the PiS ranks. Jacek Kurski's return is a mockery of the President of the Republic of Poland. The President, only once during his term, stood up to Chairman Kaczyński by demanding Kurski's dismissal as TVP president. Kurski was supposed to disappear from television. When he became a board advisor, Andrzej Duda was humiliated for the first time. Now Chairman Kaczyński has decided to humiliate the President for the second time. This is a slap in the face not only to President Duda but to the authority of the Polish state."
"I remind you that it was Andrzej Duda who began his 'reform' by pardoning his two party colleagues, Kamiński and Wąsik," said Zbigniew Konwiński of PO on TVP Info, and Marcin Kierwiński on Polsat News continued the narrative about the silent president: "I don't expect President Duda to be active in buying strawberries at a market in Garwolin; I would like him to comment on the Szumowski affair and suspicions of corruption."

Biedroń: 'The worse PiS's polls, the greater the police brutality.'
The Left addressed police brutality on Sunday morning. Robert Biedroń attacked PiS during a morning briefing: "The lower PiS's polls, the greater the police brutality on the streets. The worse Andrzej Duda is doing, the greater the repression against those who criticize the current authorities."
Biedroń demanded the lifting of restrictions on public gatherings: "I appeal to Prime Minister Morawiecki to lift the ban on gatherings, because Poles have many reasons to take to the streets today. It is high time to restore normal civil rights while returning to normality."
The head of his campaign, Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk, spoke on Polsat News in the morning about the legal assistance that Left MPs will provide to victims of police brutality.
Biedroń also spoke about PAD's 5 years: "Today is the fifth anniversary of the presidential elections. 5 years ago, we hoped that the president would uphold the Constitution and defend citizens, not his party. Today, we can say that Andrzej Duda has failed us."
Zgorzelski: 'I propose a symbolic egg to the president. This is what his effectiveness looks like; he's been made a fool of.'
