"We will request an urgent, extraordinary session of the State Control Committee for Mr. President Banaś to provide explanations regarding his asset declarations and alleged ties to the criminal world. We cannot wait on this matter. As stated by Madam Marshal Witek, the Sejm can work after the elections, despite serious doubts, but if it can, then a parliamentary committee that oversees the Supreme Audit Office (NIK) can also work" - said Sławomir Nitras from Civic Platform (PO) at a press conference in the Sejm.

"We are dealing with a state crisis. For several weeks, we have known that Mr. Marian Banaś has problems concerning the Central Anticorruption Bureau's (CBA) investigation. For several days, informal attempts have been made to persuade Mr. Banaś to resign. Mr. Banaś is the highest control authority in Poland. A strange game is being played around the most important control institution in Poland" - added Marcin Kierwiński from PO.
