“If anyone fears that they will come here and file claims for property for which there were no heirs, in connection with World War II, then I will say this: we did not start this war. We did not murder defenseless people during this war. We did not create concentration camps. We were prisoners in those concentration camps, alongside Jews and other nations. I will say to all who feel concerned: be at ease. If anyone wants to pursue such claims in Poland, then in order for them to be successful, Polish law would first have to be changed, because today there is no room for that. I, as the President of the Republic of Poland, as long as I am president, will not agree to Polish law being changed in this way” – said President Andrzej Duda in Myślenice.
