PM quotes Rzepliński from 2004: Courts are failing their role and need deep reform

- I will start a bit unusually, by referencing "Gazeta Wyborcza" from 2004, when a very well-known figure, Professor Rzepliński, also spoke in that newspaper, and what didn't he say there? He said that the courts are not fulfilling their role and should be very deeply reformed, he talked about judicial privileges, which they love to benefit from, but when it comes to speeding up cases, they often forget. He spoke about there being too many administrative judges and too few presiding judges. And for example, a very interesting argument, I will cite it, the National Council of the Judiciary (KRS) should cease to be a kind of state trade union, preserving interests that poorly serve the Polish judiciary. Nothing but applause. It's worth revisiting this material, because for unknown reasons, the professor later changed his mind 180 degrees, even though the situation in the Polish judiciary, at least until 2015, did not change much - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki during the consideration of the Civic Platform-Civic Coalition's (PO-KO) motion to dismiss Minister of Justice Zbigniew Ziobro.
