- The fact is this: we are today a member of the EU. Very many positive elements flow from the EU for us, and Poles appreciate our EU membership. However, this does not change the fact that we have the right and should – in my opinion – also articulate our viewpoint, our assessment of the situation, and make our proposals within the EU, also looking at Great Britain, at the attitude of British society, that we should repair something after all. Perhaps something needs to be changed, to step back a bit. So that the EU can be better, so that we can return to that great period of the EU which was the 80s and 90s, when the European project led to great prosperity in Western Europe, something that history probably doesn't remember – stated President Andrzej Duda in an interview with Marcin Makowski for WP.
