- Paweł Adamowicz had 'Gdańsk-ness' in his DNA, even though he was only a first-generation resident - stated the acting Mayor of Gdańsk, Aleksandra Dulkiewicz, during the funeral of Paweł Adamowicz. She added:

"Gdańsk's identity became his identity to such an extent that pride in this place and creative drawing from the richness of its traditions and history became one of the most important messages of his presidency, and he achieved unquestionable success in this regard."
