The National Electoral Commission (PKW) stated that it is not the competent body to assess the possibility of taking up a mandate or performing functions by anyone who will be elected in the elections. The PKW, as an electoral body, only assesses candidates, and in such a case, if someone has been convicted, but not with a custodial sentence, they have the right to run for office under the Electoral Code. The PKW stated that all other aspects are not within its purview to assess, these aspects of the matter” – said Magdalena Pietrzak, head of the National Electoral Office, in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski on Radio Plus.
