Morawiecki:

The Game is About Whose Poland Should Be

Morawiecki: The Game is About Whose Poland Should Be - I would like to ask the question here: what is the game about for us, in Poland, today, here? We are fiercely attacked by various media, various centers, interest groups. And you, Polish entrepreneurs, are yourselves wondering: no, perhaps they are a little bit right, perhaps these others are. The game is most of all about whose Poland should be. Should Poland belong to strong interest groups, sometimes very well represented in Warsaw, – to use this general term once again, because I love Warsaw dearly, but I mean a certain central hub of legislative and administrative decision-making, interest groups, including foreign ones, or should it belong to all Poles, including in particular Polish entrepreneurs? The changes we propose are intended at every step to strengthen this democratic dimension – said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki at the conference "The Right to Entrepreneurship. Small Businesses, Big Changes". - Democracy truly works when it serves broad interest groups, including those that are less represented and cannot build such strong lobbies as, for example, large hypermarkets, insurance institutions, banks, or the media, which are of course an interest group in themselves, or lawyers in various groups, with all due respect to all the lawyers sitting here. Or perhaps democracy should strive to work for everyone. Our social programs, at the most elementary level, lead to democratization. Our regulatory actions, including those towards small and medium-sized entrepreneurs, primarily aim for this goal – added the head of government. He also stated that the fight in Brussels for the best possible regulations and directives is also meant to help Polish entrepreneurs.
