Czaputowicz: We Received the Launch of Article 7 Procedure with Regret. We Are Open to Dialogue and Discussion with the EC
"We received the Commission's decision to launch the procedure provided for in Article 7 TEU with regret. We are defending our right to carry out judicial reforms in line with the expectations of Poles, expressed in the recent elections. They do not violate the principles of a democratic state governed by the rule of law; on the contrary, they strengthen these principles. We have outlined our position in a White Paper, which we have provided to EU institutions and member states. We present in it the arguments why the judicial reform was necessary. We are open to dialogue and substantive discussion with the European Commission and member states" - said Minister Jacek Czaputowicz in the Sejm.
