Sejm Elects New National Council of the Judiciary by a 3/5ths Majority

Members of Parliament, during a voting session, elected a new National Council of the Judiciary (KRS). The election was conducted in the so-called first stage, meaning by a 3/5ths majority with at least half of the statutory number of deputies present. 269 deputies participated in the vote, thus the 3/5ths majority required 162 votes. 267 deputies voted in favor, and 2 abstained.

The new KRS members are: Dariusz Drajewicz, Jarosław Dudzicz, Grzegorz Furmankiewicz, Marek Jaskulski, Joanna Kołodziej-Michałowicz, Jędrzej Kondek, Teresa Kurcyusz-Furmanik, Ewa Łąpińska, Zbigniew Stanisław Łupina, Leszek Mazur, Maciej Andrzej Mitera, Maciej Nawacki, Dagmara Pawełczyk-Woicka, Rafał Puchalski, and Paweł Kazimierz Styrna.
