Gowin: High Probability of Reaching Agreement with PAD; One Point of Contention
- I am definitely in favour of these [presidential] bills. This will be a test of our maturity. Our maturity, meaning the government coalition's. I believe there is a very high probability of reaching an agreement with the President. There is one contentious issue, and it is objectively contentious. It concerns the situation where a 3/5 majority in the Sejm [for the KRS election] cannot be achieved. In that case, the President proposes a solution that is unusual in Poland and constitutional lawyers have doubts about its constitutionality. In return, PiS proposes a different solution – a 3/5 majority in the Senate. The President has stated that he will not accept such a solution. We must take this as a good sign and look for a third solution. I am counting on this [resulting in] an agreement and the enactment of these laws this year – said Jarosław Gowin in an interview with Beata Lubecka on "Gość Wydarzeń" on Polsat News.
