The draft bill on the crypto-asset market, for which (former PiS MP) Janusz Kowalski was the representative of the applicants, was withdrawn by the party on Monday.
On the same day, the parliamentary club submitted a new draft. Its aim, as the authors write, is to “introduce a complete exclusion of the possibility of conducting activities related to crypto-assets within the territory of the Republic of Poland and to establish a special protective regime for entities conducting such activities.”
“The legal consequence will be the possibility of immediately restricting access to financial resources and infrastructure used by entities conducting activities related to crypto-assets. The draft introduces a new type of prohibited act consisting of conducting activities related to crypto-assets (proposed criminal liability including imprisonment from 6 months to 8 years, in cases of high value assets – from one year to 10 years imprisonment)” – we read. Zbigniew Kuźmiuk became the representative of the applicants.
The project is a realization of Jarosław Kaczyński's words. The PiS leader has declared several times that he personally is in favor of banning such activities.
Sławomir Mentzen, leader of Nowa Nadzieja (New Hope), commented on the matter. “PiS has just submitted a bill to the Sejm banning the conduct of business activities related to cryptocurrencies XD” – he commented.
PiS właśnie złożył do Sejmu ustawę zakazującą prowadzenia działalności w zakresie kryptowalut XD
