Siemoniak on the CBA:
During the Most Corrupt Government in Polish History, This Service Failed to Effectively Target Any PiS Politicians.
"The false PiS chorus against the liquidation of the CBA forgets that during the most corrupt government in Polish history (2015-2023), this service did not effectively deal with any ruling politician or official of PiS. Instead, it became known for the surveillance of the chief of staff of the largest opposition party in a trumped-up local case, and for a cashier who stole over PLN 9 million from under the noses of CBA bosses." - wrote Tomasz Siemoniak on X.
"Poland, under the rule of PiS, fared increasingly worse in corruption rankings. It was the police, despite explosive leaders, that coped well with corruption crime, and therefore the law assigns this task to the police with the specialized Central Anticorruption Bureau." - he continued in his post.
"Some anti-corruption tasks will be taken over by the ABW, which demonstrated effectiveness in dismantling the octopus of the PiS Fund for Justice. The entire process will be complemented by transferring the control of asset declarations to the KAS, creating a transparent digital system for their submission and control. This will strengthen the fight against corruption and provide the state with effective tools in this regard." - he noted.
"The proposed changes are rational and stem from analyses and experiences. The advance announcement of a veto by the President's people without the slightest attempt to address the merits is a fatal practice. Unfortunately, it has become very frequent recently." - he concluded.
