- I am surprised by this criticism from PiS circles regarding this program [...] I am constantly listening to this criticism, I see them constantly falling to their knees before American politicians from PiS, because practically the only accusation leveled against the SAFE instrument is that Europe will be raising its defense capabilities, that we are not just buying equipment from the United States - he continued.

- I must say that it is something incredible that Polish politicians are kneeling so much before politicians from another country, I am referring here to American politicians - he went on to say.

- The fact that the United States is our main ally, an ally within NATO, is natural. But this does not mean that the only equipment we will buy will be American equipment - he added.
