- Some time ago, a project appeared among prosecutors [...] concerning what would be done with prosecutors who are currently restoring the rule of law. Today, at a convention of an opposition party that wanted to foist Belarus upon us in Poland, we have announcements about how quickly, how decisively they will behead judges, expel them from the profession, of course, I'm speaking metaphorically - said Waldemar Żurek on TVN24.

- This is, of course, an action intended to cause the so-called chilling effect. These announcements are not without purpose. They are meant to intimidate judges and prosecutors who, firstly, fought for the Constitution to function in Poland for the citizens, together with the citizens. Now they are to be intimidated, so these threats are currently political - he continued.

- I, of course, believe that this will happen. If a party with authoritarian tendencies comes to power, it will draw consequences from its 8 years in government - he went on to say.

- If PiS comes to power, there will be a purge, party courts, and a party prosecution service from A to Z, and everything will happen very quickly, breaking all rules. It will be an attempt at pacification - he added.
