"This was not and is not the PSL's agenda. The topic of registered partnerships was on the electoral agenda of Lewica and PO, not PSL. We had our own project, on the status of a closest person, which evidently convinced the other members of our coalition, as they adopted it as a government project," Piotr Zgorzelski said on "Gość Dzisiaj" on TV Republika.

"Okay, we are very pleased, because this project is absolutely not a response to the demands regarding registered partnerships, as we, as the club, the PSL party, believe that the paradigm in this regard is Article 18 of the Constitution, which clearly states that marriage is a union of a man and a woman, which in the Republic is subject to legal protection," he continued.
