Czarnek:

Animals Do Not Have Rights

Michał Lubowicki

- This stems from the fact that some category of animal rights has been created. Animals do not have rights, because rights are a relationship that occurs between persons, and no animal – even the most wonderful – is a person. Therefore, animals do not have rights – said Przemysław Czarnek on Radio Wnet's "Popołudnie" (Afternoon).

- We, humans, have rights and obligations, including obligations towards animals: we have an obligation to respect animals, to keep them in good conditions. And here I can always discuss how to create regulations that would increase animal welfare. But a ban on breeding just because someone says that today people don't have to wear fur coats? Maybe someone will soon say that they don't have to eat pork chops, or […] don't have to drink milk from a cow? – he continued.
