- A law on the status of a next of kin in a relationship and a cohabitation agreement has been created. The name itself shows that we have met halfway. This is a government project, one project - said Katarzyna Kotula at a press conference.

- This law is an agreement concluded at a notary and regulates rights and obligations. It speaks of mutual respect, help, care, loyalty, and acting and cooperating for the common good. It regulates matters of property relations, allowing one to decide at the notary whether we want community or separate property - she continued.

- It regulates housing rights, the possibility of mutual alimony, mutual, accessible medical information, exemption from inheritance and gift tax, the possibility of joint tax settlement if community property has been declared, but also exemption from civil law transactions tax, guarantees a family pension, as well as testamentary inheritance, health insurance for both parties, and care leave - she further elaborated.

- These are not all the regulations, because today we are telling you the details of the main law, an implementing act will also be available soon [...]. This law does not change marital status, but it does not allow for marriage - she added.

- This is a good solution, this government project is written in such a way that we can talk with the President and the Presidential Palace to seek agreement for the signing of this law - she emphasized.
