Zandberg:

Poland Can Decide on Shorter Working Hours Without Pilot Programs

Mateusz Nowak

- I believe that in Poland, we can decide on shortening working hours without using tools like pilot programs, and the reason is very simple. Because this is not something we have never done in Poland; we have shortened working hours in Poland several times - said Adrian Zandberg in Polsat News.

- We know how to do it legally, we know what its economic consequences are; such decisions were made both during the communist era (PRL) and modifications to working hours also occurred after 1989 - he continued.

- Personally, I believe that institutions like pilot programs are needed when we introduce something into our legal or economic system that has not been there before, for example, if we were to introduce a guarantee of employment in Poland or some innovative solutions regarding the fight against homelessness - he went on to say.

- The problem I see here is that I know there is no agreement among the parties currently in this government to adopt a reduction in working hours, and I know this because we heard it directly from these parties during negotiations concerning the formation of the government. Therefore, spending tens of millions of zlotys on a pilot program will not change much - he added.
