Sikorski on G20 Invitation: 'We're Getting Our Foot in the Door'

"I believe we are getting our foot in the door, and now we need to expand on this to ensure this one-time invitation transforms into membership," stated Radosław Sikorski on TVP INFO's "Pytanie dnia" (Question of the Day), when asked about Poland's invitation to next year's G20 summit.

"Firstly, this will be recognition of Poland's success. 20 countries out of 200 UN members means we would be among the 10% wealthiest countries in the world. That's no small feat," he continued.

"Secondly, today's UN Security Council does not reflect the current balance of power. India, Brazil, and Japan are not among its members. However, the G20 represents over 80% of the world's population and over 80% of the world's economy. If, in the future, a constitutional moment for the world order arises, then we should be a part of it," highlighted Deputy Prime Minister Sikorski.
