– I would like us in Poland to stop – and I address this to all people of good will – to stop inflaming the atmosphere. It is clear that cohabitation, the cooperation between the government and the president, will be difficult. I have a very critical view of many of President Nawrocki's opinions, announcements, and initial actions – very critical – and I expect that political confrontation here is inevitable, because we represent somewhat different political worlds and probably also different worlds of values. That is how it is – stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk during a press conference at the 33rd International Defence Industry Exhibition.

– The Polish political scene is quite clearly divided; we won't change that even with the nicest gestures, but in these matters, I want to help President Nawrocki, because frankly, this Polish infighting interests me little when we are talking about matters as important as our security – he continued.

As the Prime Minister said: – Polish-American relations mean, first, second, and third, our security, and I would very much like, unlike during the governments of my predecessors, when decisions were made quite thoughtlessly and without reflection about spending tens, even hundreds of billions of zlotys, sometimes uncritically, for these relations with the USA to be as friendly as possible, but again, on a partnership basis. So my main recommendation for President Nawrocki was this: – with heads held high, not on our knees, as friends, but with the awareness that we are a proud and sovereign state.
