Nowacka:

Tying Teacher Pay to the Economy – On Education Wage Policy and a New Citizen's Bill

Michał Olech

Fortunately, changes to the Teacher's Charter have come into effect thanks to our work with trade unions. We eliminated the so-called 'czarnkowe' hours, improved teachers' working conditions, and salaries are rising. I understand that from a teacher's perspective, they should be rising faster, and that is our political commitment, but we increased spending on education from 65 billion to 115 billion, and that is genuinely visible in schools every day – stated Barbara Nowacka during 'Poranna rozmowa w RMF'.

The citizen's bill – which we indeed voted for, after all – will be considered in the Sejm, and it is our political commitment that the linking of teacher pay to the economy, rather than to the will of any particular political formation, should come into force – she continued.
