– Tomorrow, I will be in Paris not only for the conference of the coalition of the willing, meaning those states helping Ukraine in the war with Russia, but I will also find time for a one-on-one conversation with President Macron to discuss how to mitigate the effects of Mercosur. What I also said at the Cabinet Council and explained to the President – there is currently no one, besides Poland, who wants to block Mercosur. So, we cannot outvote it. Poland will oppose Mercosur because we want to truly care for, or at least demonstrate, that we will not back down when it comes to the interests of Polish agricultural producers, but there are no partners to block it right now – stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference during the 33rd International Defence Industry Exhibition.

– I have the right to believe that we will receive from the EC not only a declaration but also practical decisions concerning precisely these defense and control mechanisms. Mercosur will probably be adopted by a majority of votes, Poland will be against it. If it becomes a fact, we will not rest until these defense mechanisms come into force – he continued.
