"The media law is ready; it has been sent to the government. First and foremost, this law implements a very important EU directive, specifically the European Media Freedom Act, which has been in force since August 8th, so we are running a bit short on time," said Marta Cienkowska on "Gość Radia ZET."

"We have had discussions with Minister Domański, who has reservations about the funding of public media. This is because we want public media to be fully financed by the state budget, as this is how we guarantee their independence," she stated.

"And secondly, we want to abolish the subscription fee, which is an absolutely archaic charge," she pointed out.
