“That’s a good question. I hope so [that the dismissal of Ruchniewicz from the position of director of the Pilecki Institute concludes the entire scandal]. The question is whether it can truly be called a scandal. The personnel decision resulted from my investigative proceedings, all the data I gathered, and an analysis of the situation at hand,” Marta Cienkowska said in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on “Gość Radia ZET.”

When asked if she would resign after this matter, she stated: “No. Because if I were to yield to the opinions of Mr. Sawicki or other Members of Parliament, I most likely wouldn’t have accomplished anything in this ministry. […] I am not afraid to make difficult decisions, even though some politicians may not like it.”

“I realize that many people who participated in this whole situation might have felt wronged. […] I am committed to thoroughly clarifying this matter. Some consequences have already been drawn following my analysis of the situation. It’s not the case that I make decisions without empathy; I possess a great deal of it,” she continued.

Asked if she would like Hanna Radziejowska to return to the Institute, she replied: “These are decisions for the new director of the Pilecki Institute. He also stated directly that the issue of the Pilecki Institute in Berlin, meaning that branch, is important to him, and he will clarify it quickly.”
