– Political responsibility is not responsibility for every one of the 850,000 contracts [from KPO]. Responsibility means being the sheriff and watching over, not closing one's eyes to it, and no one involved with the funds from the ministry's leadership, and of course, the directors as well, can derive their private benefits or enter into a conflict of interest – said Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz in TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego" (Piasecki's Interview).

– If a control is not sent, if I know someone has engaged in trickery and I let it go – or, God forbid, I steal from someone myself – then there is a reason for political responsibility. However, I have mechanisms to oversee this. Just as a police officer is supposed to pursue someone who has stolen, that's what I do – she continued.

When pressed about political responsibility at the ministerial and deputy ministerial level, she replied: – I haven't discovered anything. There is responsibility for this money understood exactly as I've described. However, I have not discovered, despite looking very closely, not even a shadow – and the public hasn't either – of a conflict of interest, private gain, or turning a blind eye to irregularities. And I have not discovered this, although I am investigating, at the directorial level.
