"The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse." Bogucki After Cabinet Council: "The Budget Has Never Been Worse."

– We are, one might say, dealing with a sort of quadriga of Minister Domański – and thus also of this government, and of the Prime Minister – concerning public finances and the deficit. One could say these are the four horsemen of the Apocalypse – stated Zbigniew Bogucki at a press conference after the Cabinet Council meeting.

On one hand, we know that for the current budget, one-third of expenditure funds come from loans. This means we are facing very significant indebtedness. The second issue is that the deficit accounts for nearly 50% of revenues – the Head of the President's Chancellery continued.

– The next, extremely important point: nearly 50 billion zlotys less in revenue this year than in the previous year, despite the fact that we still – fortunately – have economic growth. And with economic growth, state budget revenues should also be higher – he argued.

– The fourth point [...], it was very often misrepresented when it was said that previous budgets were burdened with a large scale of expenditures not directly included in the budget itself. If we look at the annexes to this budget, meaning off-budget expenditures or funds, then – remarkably – it's over 182 billion zlotys – he stated.

As he assessed: – In all four of these points, we are witnessing a kind of "historic" achievement. It has never been this bad when it comes to the budget, and in this regard, the President will further question the Minister of Finance.
