"The Crime of Diplomatic Treason": PiS Announces Complaint to Prosecutor's Office Regarding Ruchniewicz
- Mr. Krzysztof Ruchniewicz holds the position of director of the institute, I don't even want to use the name of the Pilecki Institute because what he has done with this institution is simply a scandal. This institute of Ruchniewicz today, he is the director there, but he is also the plenipotentiary of the government, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, for Polish-German relations. He holds an official government position - said Paweł Jabłoński at a press conference.
- According to Article 129 of the Penal Code, anyone authorized to represent the Republic of Poland in relations with other states, with foreign organizations, any such person who acts to the detriment of the Republic of Poland is subject to a penalty of up to 10 years in prison. This is the crime of diplomatic treason - he continued.
- Mr. Ruchniewicz is a public official by appointment, by the grace of Donald Tusk. He has acted to the detriment of the Republic of Poland, because this is contrary even to the official policy of this government - he went on to say.
- A complaint will likely be filed this week regarding the commission of a crime by Mr. Ruchniewicz, that he has committed a crime under Article 129 of the Penal Code. We will demand prosecution and punishment. I have no confidence that the prosecutor's office headed by Mr. Żurek will take such action, but I am absolutely convinced that sooner or later there will be accountability - he added.
