Sejm to Debate Confidence Vote for Government and Deregulation

The Sejm will resume its proceedings on Wednesday. At 9:00 AM, the Sejm is set to consider Prime Minister Donald Tusk's motion for a vote of confidence in the government. At 2:00 PM, voting will begin, including a decision on a motion to supplement the agenda with the Prime Minister's information on the situation at Poczta Polska (Polish Post).

At 2:10 PM, a first reading will take place for a parliamentary bill on protecting the rights of purchasers of residential premises or single-family houses and the Developer Guarantee Fund. This bill, proposed by Poland 2050 MPs, introduces a provision stipulating that regulations regarding warranty for sales will apply to all contracts whose ultimate effect is the transfer of ownership of real estate developed by a developer.

At 3:30 PM, a second reading is scheduled for the government's draft bill on investment funds and the management of alternative investment funds. Subsequently, at 4:15 PM, a second reading will be held for the government's draft bill on the trading of financial instruments. Both of these bills concern regulatory deregulation measures by the government.

At 5:00 PM, a second reading is planned for the government's draft amendment to the acts on the National Revenue Administration and on Value Added Tax. This concerns, among other things, enabling a controlled entrepreneur to voluntarily submit a tax declaration correction that partially accounts for errors discovered during customs and tax control. This bill is also part of the government's deregulation efforts.

Procedural consideration of three further government deregulation bills is scheduled sequentially for 5:45 PM, 6:30 PM, and 7:15 PM. The first of these concerns raising the limit of the so-called subjective exemption in VAT from PLN 200,000 to PLN 240,000. The second provides for simplifications for pharmaceutical companies, and the third extends the deadline for a divorced spouse to declare their return to their previously held surname.

Senate Session Begins

At 11:00 AM, a two-day Senate session will commence. Members of the upper house will address bills concerning repatriation, nature protection, protection of health against the consequences of using tobacco and tobacco products, as well as bills regarding anti-communist opposition activists and persons repressed for political reasons.
