Thursday's Political Agenda: Sejm on Budget and Mandatory Hunter Health Checks, Kosiniak-Kamysz in Ramstein, Nawrocki and Mentzen on the Campaign Trail

The Sejm (lower house of parliament) will resume its session at 9:00 AM with a series of current affairs questions. At 11:30 AM, at the request of Lewica (The Left party), it will hear a current information report on the digital priorities of Poland's presidency of the Council of the European Union, particularly concerning cybersecurity and AI development.

At 1:00 PM, the Sejm will proceed to the first reading of a government bill aiming to align Polish law with Poland's accession to the European Public Prosecutor's Office. At 2:30 PM, the first reading of a bill submitted by PSL (Polish People's Party) to amend the Code of Civil Procedure concerning the introduction of a "blind lawsuit" will commence. Finally, at 4:00 PM, MPs will consider a bill from Polska 2050 (Poland 2050 movement) regarding the obligation for periodic medical examinations for hunters. This legislation is a point of contention between Szymon Hołownia's movement and PSL.

At 5:30 PM, a one-hour voting block is scheduled. During this time, the Sejm will, among other things, consider the Senate's amendments to the 2025 budget bill, decide on supplementing the agenda with information from the Minister of Interior and Administration regarding the "number of crimes committed by foreigners in the years 2015-2024," and make changes to the composition of parliamentary committees.

At 9:30 AM, the extraordinary parliamentary committee for removing the effects of the September flood will convene. During this session, the government's plenipotentiary, Marcin Kierwiński, will present information on the current situation in the areas affected by the disaster.

At 2:00 PM, the Marshal of the Senate, Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska, will meet with Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya. The leader of the Belarusian democratic opposition will also meet with President Andrzej Duda at 6:00 PM.

Minister of National Defence Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz is traveling to a meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group at the US Air Force base in Ramstein, Germany. The meeting will focus on the current equipment needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and a review of the Group's activities to date. A press briefing with the Deputy Prime Minister is scheduled for approximately 4:00 PM.

At 9:00 AM, a press briefing will be held by the Minister of Infrastructure, Dariusz Klimczak, and the Deputy Minister, Arkadiusz Marchewka, regarding the results of Polish seaports in 2024 and investment plans for the current year. At 1:00 PM, another briefing is planned with Klimczak and the government's plenipotentiary for CPK (Central Communication Port), Maciej Lasek.

At 12:00 PM, a press briefing will be held by the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Czesław Siekierski, following a meeting with representatives of Copa Cogeca.

Karol Nawrocki, the candidate supported by PiS (Law and Justice party) for president, is heading to the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship. A press briefing is scheduled for 1:45 PM in Bemowo Piskie. At 3:00 PM, he is expected to meet with farmers in Pisz, and at 6:00 PM, a meeting with residents is planned in Olecko.

Sławomir Mentzen, the Confederation candidate for president, will hold meetings in the Masovian Voivodeship: in Maków Mazowiecki (at 4:00 PM), in Pułtusk (at 6:00 PM), and in Płońsk (at 8:00 PM).

At 12:30 PM, a press conference will be held in the Sejm by the leader of the PiS parliamentary club, Mariusz Błaszczak, PiS spokesperson Rafał Bochenek, and MP Olga Semeniuk-Patkowska.
