Sikorski:

We Have a Chance to Build the Strongest Army in the EU

Polish diplomacy will be as effective as it is professional, and as long as it is backed by strength. This year, we have allocated 4.3% of GDP to defense, and next year, thanks to wise policy, we will allocate 4.7% of GDP to defense. Again, the highest in the entire North Atlantic Alliance. The heroically fighting Ukraine is giving us invaluable time, which we must not waste – stated Radosław Sikorski during the Civic Platform (PO) convention. It gives us time to build the strongest army in the EU; I am not exaggerating, it is within our capabilities, but also time to complete our modernization. If by the end of this decade we build Polish nuclear power, becoming energetically independent from Russia, implement a wise migration policy, and achieve a 'triple jump' modernization in railway and airport infrastructure, then Poland will become as powerful as Poland can be – the Minister of Foreign Affairs continued.
