Tusk Announces PLN 100 Million for Warsaw Uprising Museum Expansion

– The Mayor of Warsaw pointed out to me several days ago that there was something that needed fixing. Due to some thoughtless formal, bureaucratic decisions, it turned out some time ago that the readiness to support the museum’s financing could not be realized. There are places where we don't think in terms of budget, discipline, but rather fundamental national interest – stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk at the Warsaw Uprising Museum.

– Therefore, in agreement with the Director [Ołdakowski] and the Mayor [Trzaskowski], and at their request, I decided, having of course also discussed it with the Minister of Finance, that this program, your very ambitious one, already prepared, for the museum’s expansion, because we want more and more people to be able to use this institution, to learn about the Uprising, under better conditions too, so this program, which you ambitiously began, but for which there was a lack of funds, must be realized as soon as possible. That is why the decision regarding PLN 100 million, because that’s the amount we agreed upon, was made by me and the Minister of Finance – he continued.
