Tusk on Solemn Pledge:

We Will Build a Strong Poland That Fears Neither Neighbours Nor Enemies.

Michał Olech

- We all have an obligation today, a sacred obligation, to give a solemn pledge to the heroines and heroes of the Warsaw Uprising, in Poland, that this sacrifice, what Warsaw experienced, endured, suffering, bleeding 80 years ago, will not be in vain. As one of the nurses, Grażyna, recently said, what we really wanted was a normal life without suffering, without wounds, what gives freedom, independence. So today, Mr. Marshal, Mr. President, and all together, all of Poland, regardless of how we argue about various matters on a daily basis, we should all make this solemn pledge today. We are building together and will build a strong Poland that will not fear neighbours or enemies, or the dangers that have been lurking for some time – stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk on the 80th anniversary of the outbreak of the Warsaw Uprising.

- Together we will build a Poland where such sacrifices as those that took place here in Warsaw, in Wola, 80 years ago, will never have to be made. We will build a safe home for you, for your children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren – he added.
