Grodzki:

I Want to Firmly Deny Any Obstruction by the Senate on the 'Envelope Election' Law. This Was About Proper Legislation

Michał Olech

In the first sentence, I want to firmly, unequivocally, with all my might deny that the Senate caused any delay or any obstruction. This is not the first law that has passed through the Sejm at what was called legislative express speed. It seemed strange to us that a fundamental law, which removed the National Electoral Commission from elections, was being passed in the initial phase of the pandemic, when there were no vaccines yet, when we didn't know if this virus killed every second, every fifth, or every tenth person. Therapeutic recommendations were full of uncertainty. Did this law, which came to us on April 6th, meet the criteria of proper legislation and ensure a democratic form for conducting the election of the first person in the state, the President of the Republic? Because if it did not, it would be a disgrace to the democratic foundations of the Polish state – stated Tomasz Grodzki at the investigative committee for the 'envelope elections'.
