Bielan:

We Must Wait for Emotions to Subside, Then Return to Negotiations. I am Convinced the United Right Still Has Many Tasks Ahead

- It would be completely absurd, incomprehensible to our voters, for us to quarrel now after four consecutive election victories in the last 2 years, at a time when we have a relatively safe majority in the Sejm for 3 years, a friendly president, and can finally reform Poland, which is what our voters expect us to do - stated Adam Bielan in an interview with Michał Rachoń on TVP Info's program "Jedziemy".

- Let's remember that this bill, although important of course and evoking strong emotions, was not an element of the coalition agreement. This agreement is yet to be signed. MPs behaved differently. Solidarna Polska MPs voted against it, but also several dozen MPs belonging to the PiS party voted against it. Porozumienie MPs abstained by a large majority, although it seems Prime Minister Emilewicz voted in favour. And a very large part of the opposition voted in favour of this bill, so it was passed by a large majority in the Sejm. I believe we must probably wait a few days for the emotions to subside, and then return to the negotiating table. I am convinced that the United Right still has many tasks ahead of it. As the United Right, we are the most successful project in the history of Polish parliament. Never before has any political project, any grouping, won all the elections in which the United Right participated. Since 2014, it has won all elections, and I do not understand, and above all, our voters would not understand at all, that this project has been broken due to the ambitions of one politician or another - he continued.
