Unfortunately, sometimes the government that rules Poland today has a tendency to abuse its power, to oppress people who certainly have good intentions and who should be protected. I wanted to clearly announce this to you. The rainbow flag should not offend anyone. Certainly, such incidents as we have observed – meaning the police entering private residences – cannot occur in a democratic state. Let us hope that the police will thoroughly investigate whether they had any reasons for doing so. I want to make it clear that in the coming years, as I have repeatedly declared, I will stand guard over all those who are currently attacked, humiliated, and simply weaker. Regardless of whether this is because they are people with disabilities, or because they are fighting for the rights of sexual minorities, or because they need support for any other reason – said Rafał Trzaskowski in an online live broadcast.
