PM Morawiecki: EU Funds Not Tied to 'Rule of Law'; We Urged Orbán to Conclude Article 7 Procedure. We Are Convinced There Are No Irregularities.

This is not the case. European funds, from the European budget, these 750 billion, are not tied to the so-called rule of law, which has been a separate stream of dispute for two or three years now with the European Union, concerning which, together with Prime Minister Orbán, we have appealed to, to use a colloquial expression, stop chasing this rabbit and bring the Article 7 procedure to its very end. We are convinced that there are no irregularities on our part that would indicate its closure to the detriment of Poland, to the detriment of Hungary. One can say that this earlier, politicized mechanism, because one only needs to look at what was proposed at the outset and what is at the end. At the outset, a politicized mechanism was proposed, creating the possibility of obtaining and using European funds with an assessment of the rule of law. At the end, there is no such dependency” – said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki at a press conference.
