As 300POLITYKA has learned, on Thursday President Andrzej Duda will receive the oaths of office from the Constitutional Tribunal judges elected by the Sejm in November: Krystyna Pawłowicz, Stanisław Piotrowicz, and Jakub Stelina. Our source emphasizes that the ceremony will take place during the day.
The new judges will replace Stanisław Rymar, Piotr Tuleja, and Marek Zubik in the Tribunal. Their terms expire on December 3rd, but President Duda will be in London on Tuesday and Wednesday for a meeting of NATO leaders.
The Sejm will elect one more Constitutional Tribunal judge in the near future. Małgorzata Pyziak-Szafnicka's term expires on January 5th. Consequently, only Leon Kieres, whose term expires in July 2021, will remain in the Constitutional Tribunal from the so-called "old" judges, elected by previous ruling parties.
