- It is clear to everyone that Poland has its goals to achieve, that the cost of transformation must be distributed fairly, and our demands must also be met so that we can talk about further reduction targets regarding CO2 emission reductions. We have our very difficult starting point, characteristic only of Poland due to our dependence on coal, and this starting point must be taken into account - Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki told journalists in Madrid.

As the head of the Polish government added, he participated this morning in a meeting with EU leaders to discuss the Union's common approach and the position of individual states regarding climate change and the climate conference itself.

- I made it very clear that Poland is, of course, one of the EU countries that has undertaken the commitments of the Paris Agreement, but at the same time, we also have our very characteristic starting point, and this was accepted with understanding - he said. PM Morawiecki indicated that among the EU leaders, he spoke about several issues that he considered fundamental.
