Borys-Damięcka:

I Invited Olga Tokarczuk to Today's Session. She Informed Me Via SMS That She Couldn't Come to Warsaw and Sends Lots of Good, Bright Energy to Our Senate

I decided to invite Olga Tokarczuk, our Nobel laureate, to today's session, knowing that she has many very important obligations related to the Nobel Prize, and I called her because it was already too late to send an official invitation. She didn't promise anything, but asked for a moment to consider. The next day, I received an SMS from her, and I wish to read it to you: Dear Madam, I don't want to disturb you by calling on a Sunday. However, I must unfortunately inform you that I will not be able to come to Warsaw in any way. I am writing my Nobel lecture and have many other commitments here, including a trip to France. I am very sorry, I send my warmest regards and lots of good, bright energy to our Senate. With respect, Olga Tokarczuk. And I wish all our chamber this good, bright energy for the coming 4 years. Thank you for your attention - stated Senior Marshal Barbara Borys-Damięcka during the first session of the Senate of the new term.
