'The Polish state must be like a shield. As in Krasicki's beautiful fairy tale – a friend in need is a friend indeed. The Polish state must also help Polish farmers in times of hardship. The Polish state exists to provide support in difficult moments. Therefore, I can say today that we have decided on a per-hectare subsidy for losses exceeding 70%, similar to last year's 1000 zloty. This will cost a billion, perhaps two billion. The Polish state will not abandon farmers in need' – said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in Kolno.
