Smolik on Matura Exams Without Pedagogical Council Decision: 'No Such Possibility. The Law is Merciless. A School Graduate Takes the Exam.'

- From our side, the [matura] exams are not threatened in any way. The papers are prepared for every student who has been registered by the school principal and who has submitted a declaration to take the matura exam. The papers are ready, printed, and in a secure location. They are waiting to be dispatched on May 6th - said Marcin Smolik in an interview with Marcin Zaborski on RMF FM's "Popołudniowa rozmowa" (Afternoon Talk).

The Director of the CKE was also asked whether students would be able to take the exams if the classification councils did not approve their grades.

- There is no such possibility. The law is merciless. A school graduate takes the exam. Someone becomes a school graduate when they receive the pedagogical council's approval to complete the school. The end of the academic year for secondary school graduates is scheduled for April 16th - stated Smolik.
