"Today in the Sejm, the first reading of our bill, which guarantees pregnant women that ZUS (the Social Insurance Institution) will pay their sick pay from the first day (not their employer, as is the case today)" – wrote Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz on X.
"The data is appalling. Almost one in ten expectant mothers has been fired due to being pregnant. In small towns – 13 percent, in medium-sized companies – 15 percent. Over 21 percent of Poles personally know such a woman. This means one in five of us knows what discrimination looks like in its pure, Polish version." – she continued in her post.
"These numbers are an indictment of the entire system, which on paper proclaims a pro-family policy, but in practice punishes women for daring to become pregnant. It's time to end the fiction. It's time to start truly protecting mothers – not just on campaign billboards. We count on 100% support across party lines." – she emphasized.
