– Rafał Trzaskowski [...] made a promise, it happened literally two weeks ago, when he said that Elbląg would again be a seaport. It turned out to be an empty promise. When Law and Justice governed, we completed the Vistula Spit canal, we deepened the waterway section on the Vistula Lagoon. The section connecting Elbląg, connecting the port of Elbląg with the waterway leading through the Vistula Spit canal, remains – said Mariusz Błaszczak at a press conference.

– We proposed cooperation to the local government of the city of Elbląg on this matter, we proposed co-financing on the same terms as ports in Gdynia, Gdańsk, Szczecin, and Świnoujście operate. Elbląg must be the fourth Polish port, but then the politicized local government associated with the December 13 coalition, at that time associated with the opposition, rejected the government's proposal – he continued.

– Elbląg is experiencing years of decline because the port of Elbląg is not being used on the scale it could be used, and, as it turns out, the government of the December 13 coalition will not ensure that the port of Elbląg can be a very important element on Poland's economic map, because there is no will from the December 13 coalition for this to happen, they only make empty promises – he went on to say.

– The Vistula Spit canal and the construction of a strong port in this part of our country, i.e., on the eastern side of the Vistula, is very important for the security of our homeland. The 16th Mechanized Division, which operates in the northeastern part of our country, organized exercises together with the Navy concerning ensuring the security of this part of Poland using the Vistula Spit canal – he added.

– When Law and Justice governed, the investment could be carried out [...] when the December 13 coalition governs, the chance has been missed, they just talk and do nothing – he emphasized.
